Breast Augmentation Surgery is approx two hours’ procedure which can be performed under intravenous sedation or general anesthesia. You’ll need to wear an elastic bandage or support bra to minimize swelling and support your breasts as they heal. You will likely to feel little discomfort in raising your hands, some bruising, swelling and mild pain right after the surgery which will subside in next 5-7 days. The overall social downtime is one week as all the normal office type activities can be resumed after 2-3 days and patient can start light exercise 2-3 weeks after this procedure. It takes 4 to 8 weeks to completely recover & resolve the swelling.

Although many factors are involved with determining your actual recovery time for breast augmentation, a post-surgical recovery period is 24 to 48 hours and an additional reduced-activity period is 2-3 days. You will likely experience a little discomfort in raising your hands, mild stiffness in the breasts for few days and swelling for 4 to 6 weeks. Exercise and other strenuous activity can be resumed after one month. Over time, post-surgical swelling will decrease and incision lines will fade.
